It would be difficult to overstate how excited the staff and Board of the Herzfeld Foundation are about the launch of our new website. We’re very happy with how it looks ( thank you to our website designer, Rockstar Design! ) and even happier about how it feels to use and peruse it. There’s considerably more information about our history, grantmaking goals and philosophy, and the organizations we fund than on our previous website, which had not been updated in more than a decade.
Better yet, we now have an opportunity to visualize the impacts of our grantmaking. The new website includes dozens of photos we received from grantees that are shown throughout the site. These give a genuine flavor of the wonderful arts, cultural, educational, and civic programs and opportunities that the generosity of Richard and Ethel Herzfeld continue to support in a manner that words never could convey.
Another important feature of the new website is this blog. We plan to post fairly regularly ( perhaps once or twice per month ) on new developments and grant opportunities at the Foundation, as well as provide thoughts and insights gleaned from site visits and conversations with grantees. This will allow us to share successes and challenges of organizations we support that may be of value to peer nonprofits, and it will also enable us to help spread the word about important new offerings.
Feel free to share with us any new photos you would like us to consider for the website or any ideas for blog posts. We hope you’ll also let us know what you think of the new site and ideas for potential improvements.
